Psychological issues

Brian Kaplan

Dr Brian Kaplan on Psychological Issues:

Depending on the condition I combine three approaches to psychological problems.

  1. Provocative Therapy: This is the mainstay of my way of dealing with behavioural and psychological problems. Provocative Therapy is a powerful, short-term form of psychotherapy based on reverse psychology and humorous insights. It is suitable for most (but not all) psychological issues.
  2. Autogenic Therapy: is a powerful form of deep relaxation that is very useful for any stress-related condition. Once learned it can be practised for life.
  3. Homeopathy: Homeopathic remedies can also be useful for psychological issues and can complement both Provocative Therapy and Autogenic Therapy.

The approaches above are often more than sufficient to treat a large spectrum of psychological and behavioural problems. However Dr. Kaplan will take a medical history, do a physical examination and order tests if he suspects a medical cause (eg. high or low thyroid hormone or other organic illness) for any psychological symptoms.

Liesl D Hinkly on Psychological Problems

Many people report feeling more “open” more “aware” more ”in touch” both with their bodies and with the world around them. Rolfing finds your edges and your challenges and can be a great tool for working with behavioral difficulties and understanding boundaries .It is a way of working with the body which aims at bringing it into better balance at every level. I have noticed that it can promote psychological growth while supporting clients who have difficulty expressing themselves emotionally. For this reason it works excellently alongside psychotherapy.
